Semiconductor and fiber lasers expert, nLIGHT, has introduced a new, compact 400W fiber-coupled semiconductor laser module, the element e24i. Its high power density is designed to enable high-power direct diode, solid-state, and fiber lasers for industrial, micro-fabrication, and defense applications.
The e24i offers a unique combination of power, brightness in a package small enough to fit in the palm of a hand. The product, according to nLIGHT, will enable customers to scale to new power levels with favorable economics. Built on the foundation of single-emitter laser diodes, high brightness fiber coupling and simplified packaging, the nLIGHT element platform offers the highest brightness and highest power diodes in the industry. The element e24i delivers an impressive 400 W output power at 915nm or 375W output power at 976 nm from a 200 µm fiber. Operating at with a 0.16 NA, this laser provides exceptional power density for advanced applications. The laser is ideally suited for industrial fiber lasers, fiber laser amplifiers and direct diode material processing systems.
