II-VI Suwtech and II-VI Laser Enterprise to Launch Next Generation 808 nm Laser Diode

II-VI Suwtech and II-VI Laser Enterprise, both owned by subsidiaries of II-VI Incorporated announced the launch of their next generation 808nm multi-mode high power laser diode single emitter portfolio at Laser World of Photonics.712370

II-VI’s 808nm laser diode single emitter chip delivers output powers above 10W with efficiencies at improved reliability enabling high power fiber coupled modules for pumping in material processing and medical applications.

The expanded portfolio of 808nm fiber coupled modules offers output powers from 15W up to 30W with the same mechanical dimension and fiber configuration (200um fiber core/0.22NA). The new fiber coupled products are an expansion of the high volume generic ‘BMU’ single emitter platform. These high output power/brightness BMU’s have an easy to mount compact hermetic package. DPSS manufacturers, medical instrument makers and other subsystem developers can upgrade their product performance by replacing low power modules, simplify their product configuration by using fewer modules and improve their product reliability by less fiber management complexity.

II-VI offers leading quality and an extended lifetime with based on the chip design and high volume package manufacturing. Wavelength range and fiber connector types can be tailored to meet specific customer applications. The laser diode chip is available with open heat sink on an AlN submount or on a C-mount.
