The Model 205 from McPherson is a 500-mm focal length Czerny Turner Spectrometer with Patented "Snap-In" gratings. It is available in three versions of f/6.9, f/4.3, f/3.2 with a turret or single grating holder to meet the diverse spectral analysis requirements. Used in the air and with a selection of gratings, the spectral range of the 205 extends from 185 nm to 20.8 um. It features high-efficiency Broadband Al+MgF2 optical coatings, a precision micrometer with adjustable slits, gratings that rotate about their apex to maintain high throughput and prevent spectral 'wander', and rugged construction.
This spectrometer provides a reasonable spectral resolution of up to 0.64 nm and allows the user to tailor the instrument to produce better data from a given experiment. The device is available with multiple ports for mounting accessories or CCD detectors, etc. Other features include SNAP IN gratings that allow the alignment-free use of many different gratings. All the three versions can work with the company's digital scan control technology for scanning or with corrected optics for imaging. It is available in a benchtop unit and is ideal for low light applications such as Raman and photoluminescence.
