The FL 6500 from PerkinElmer Inc is a Pulse Fluorescence Spectrometer that operates at a wavelength of 200 nm - 900 nm. It has a wavelength accuracy of 0.5 nm, wavelength reproducibility of 0.2 nm, and maximum wavelength scan speed of 24,000 nm/min. This spectrometer has resolutions of 1 nm, 2.5 nm, 5 nm, 10 nm & 20 nm and a response time above 0.002 sec. It uses a pulse xenon lamp as an illumination source and photomultiplier tube as the detector.
The FL 6500 has a monochromator with 1200 grooves/mm and minimum RMS signal-to-noise ratio of 750:1. It has slit widths of 1 nm, 2.5 nm, 5 nm, 10 nm & 20 nm and a display range of up to 260000. This spectrometer includes four peak power settings: 120 kW, 80 kW, 40 kW, and 20 kW. It uses three standard excitation filters that allow transmission at wavelengths of 290 nm, 370 nm & 530 nm and three standard emission filters that allow transmission at wavelengths of 320 nm, 430 nm & 515 nm.
The FL 6500 has a filter wheel with 12 slots that accept standard 12.5 mm round filters and an event marker button. It can be controlled via a USB 2.0 communication interface and supports spectrumTM FL standard & spectrumTM FL enhanced security softwares. This spectrometer requires an AC supply voltage of 100 V - 240 V and is available in a compact package that measures 66 (W) cm x 36 (H) cm x 64 (D) cm. It is ideal for analyzing samples susceptible to photo-bleaching, phosphorescence analysis, and fluorescence spectroscopy applications.
